Hello, I’m Danette! With over 20 years of experience in caring for pets belonging to friends and family, I have turned my lifelong passion for animals into a fulfilling profession. I founded Danette’s Comfy Critters to create a space where pets are treated like family, and over time, this venture has blossomed into something truly beautiful.

I am a licensed and insured pet sitter with a solid background in veterinary assistance, which equips me with the knowledge and skills to provide top-notch care for your beloved pets. As a certified Pet First Aid and CPR provider, the safety and well-being of your furry friends are my top priorities.

At home, I share my life with my wonderful husband, Steve, along with our 5 dogs, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon. Our home environment is calm and nurturing, and we are excited to extend that love and care to your pets. Together, we have the experience and dedication to provide a safe and comfortable home away from home for your furry companions.

I believe in personalized care and foster a loving atmosphere for all pets entrusted to me. This approach, combined with a commitment to patience and understanding, ensures that both owners and pets feel secure and cared for.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Where do I begin?! We recently moved here from the East Coast of Florida and I was so nervous to board my Miss Molly! High anxiety, scared of storms, and more!! She immediately took to Danette and Uncle Steve! She usually doesn’t do well with men so I was worried! We did a meet and greet and she was in her element right away with all the love and warmth they brought. By her first overnight trial she pretty much claimed them as part of the pack! We just returned from a week long getaway and Molly became part of their family right away. The love, attention and communication daily was top notch! Our connecting flight was cancelled and they were actually happy they could have her another night over. I am beyond blessed to have found such wonderful humans to love and care for my sweet girl! I had never used a pet sitter before and I was a little nervous at first, but Danette made the process of leaving my animals super easy. She went above and beyond, providing me with lots of pictures and videos!  Danette truly made me feel safe leaving them in her care. Both of my animals can be picky with people and they adore her. Danette came to our home to meet Maddie our 10+ year old Shar Pei - Retriever mix. Maddie has some separation anxiety issues so we were looking for someone that could care for her for day trips, overnight stays and vacations. Maddie loved Danette and vice a versa from the moment they met. Danette’s background absolutely plays a huge role in her taking care of pups that have “some special needs”.  Danette takes such wonderful care of Maddie, we jokingly wonder if she will want to to come back home given how much fun she has playing with all the other furry friends.  Danette keeps us posted with whatever is going on with Maddie and we just don’t worry when she’s with her.  Maddie has some diet & medication protocols and Danette is right on top of that for her. That peace of mind means everything. If you’re looking for someone to love and take care of your fur babies like you do, we highly recommend Danette. She really loves them we can tell and our domesticated feral loves her which is rare. She tells them she loves them. She talks to them and sings to them. She watched my two tabby felines, Biscuit and Saracha, for a whole week while I was vacationing in Las Vegas.  She made daily house visits for litter scooping and feeding, hung out and played with them and sent me lots of photos of them having a blast.  She even brought them Churu treats which was a very thoughtful touch (and I had to buy more because they loved them so much).  I really felt at ease knowing she was there with them - she treated them like they were her own pets.  I can't thank her enough!  I 100% recommend her for your pet sitting needs!

He comes home so tuckered out but never wants to leave when we pick him up! Her land is huge with plenty of safe space for my pup to get all his energy out. Meet And Greet

Meet and greets are an important part of the process of booking a pet sitter because they provide an opportunity for both the pet owner and the pet sitter to get to know each other and assess whether they are a good fit for each other and the pet. It gives me a chance to meet the pet(s), and for us to get familiar with each other. If you want to do doggie daycare or a slumber party, the meet and greets take place at our home in Crystal River. If you are wanting housesitting or drop-in visits, the meet and greets take place in your home. Regardless of services needed, a meet and greet is required. The meet and greets typically last 30-45 minutes and is of no charge to you.
