Hello there, I’m Danette!

After 2 decades of looking after pets for friends and family, I’ve decided to turn my passion into a profession. Since starting Danette’s Comfy Critters, it has grown into something beautiful.

I serve pet parents in Citrus County and I bring a wealth of knowledge as a licensed and insured pet sitter with a background in veterinary assistance. As a certified Pet First Aid and CPR provider, I prioritize your pet’s safety and well-being. I also work with non-aggressive fearful dogs and together, we can customize a plan that’s best for them and setting them up for success.

At our home, we’re a calm bunch with 5 dogs, 2 cats, and a bearded dragon, and we can’t wait to extend that love to your furry friends.  I have an amazing husband Steve, who loves animals as much as I do.  He will love and spoil your pets too while they are with us.  Together, we provide a safe and comfortable home away from home for your beloved pet.

I pride myself on providing personalized care since we’re not a high-volume operation. My approach is rooted in patience and love, aiming to give pet owners peace of mind knowing their beloved companions are in secure and caring hands. Your pets deserve the best, and we are here to ensure they receive just that.

Meet And Greet

Meet and greets are an important part of the process of booking a pet sitter because they provide an opportunity for both the pet owner and the pet sitter to get to know each other and assess whether they are a good fit for each other and the pet. It gives me a chance to meet the pet(s), and for us to get familiar with each other.

If you want to do doggie daycare or a slumber party, the meet and greets take place at our home in Crystal River. If you are wanting housesitting or drop-in visits, the meet and greets take place in your home. Regardless of services needed, a meet and greet is required.

The meet and greets typically last 30-45 minutes and is of no charge to you.

Booking & Cancellation Policy

After our meet and greet is finished and you wish to hire me to care for your pets, I require a 50% deposit to hold the dates that you need me for. The balance is due on or before the 1st day of care.

As the holidays are our busiest times of the year and we often have waiting lists, please give at least 14 days notice if your service falls within a major holiday.

Once services are confirmed, I dedicate time to you and do not overbook. I understand your plans may change and I do not charge for cancellations with adequate notice. However, if you cancel 48 hours or less prior to the scheduled service date, you will forfeit your deposit.

Cancellation can be done by phone, through email, or by text notification.
